If you're looking for a GPS for somebody this Christmas, check out the Garmin 750 at Sam's Club. It cost $400 if you buy it from Garmin but it's only $200 at Sam's Club.
http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=377706
Now I know you can get other Garmin models for closer to a hundred dollars but the 750 comes packed with great features such as MP3 player, radio transmitter, picture viewer, wide screen, and spoken directions including street names. Very sweet deal.

Cricut Cartridges
If anyone happens to have a Cricut machine (I do, thus the excitement!) - cartridges are $30 at Michaels today (Thanksgiving night) and I think tomorrow. Awesome deal, as these retail for almost $90! My friend picked up a Disney Princess and "Going Places" for me tonight - woohoo!

Britax for dirt cheap!
***Sorry, sold out***
My friend, Angelica, shared this deal with me. I don't know how long it will last.
Target.com has their Britax Marathon car seats on clearance for $43. Original retail: $280. It has free shipping, too. Score!
I tried to get a link to work right to the car seat, but it wasn't cooperating. Just do a search for Britax Marathon and scroll to the bottom. You should see it there for $42.99.

Today I made bread using my Kitchenaid Mixer. I love that thing. I use it at least once a day. There is a super-duper Kitchenaid Pro 500 on sale for $287 that would be about $200 after the 30% off code. That could easily handle about 12 cups of bread dough. Yumm...

*tap, tap "Is this thing on?" Am I the only one here? Hopefully my posts are not boring you all to death! We don't need any dead bodies in bargain paradise!
*sigh, another Kmart deal YMMV (your mileage may vary) Today I found girls and boys bicycles clearanced:
Huffy Ariel 16 inch bike w/ removable training wheels, 3+: was $89 now $22, link to bike on kmart.com: bike
Huffy Ariel 12 inch bike w/ trainers 3+ was $79 now $20
Huffy Ariel Sidewalk bike 10 inch 1 1/2 yrs+ $5.00
Scooter by streetflyers, Folding 3-sz adjustable Black box, was $29 now $14
Optimus Prime Transformers 16 in bike - was $70 now $35
Also all clearance clothing at my store is .99 now
Couldn't use them myself, but this might help someone's Christmas shopping!
Also, most all deals at KMart are unmarked, fyi.
Whole Foods $5 off $25
There is a link below to a printable $5 off $25 coupon from Whole Foods, good thru the 22nd.
http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/pdfs/coupon_5off.pdf
Hope someone can use it. Not exactly a budget-friendly store, but there are always certain ingredients or items that only they carry! Now if only Trader Joe's would come out with a $5 off $25....
Let me know if they pull it, I saved a copy on my computer.

Baby legwarmers!
- so cute and amazingly practical! This little beauty from the 80's is flashing back to help your little one avoid the bare-leg-itis caused by being held constantly, crawling, etc.
These sell for about $10-15 in stores and online, but KMart had a really cute selection, all clearanced to $.99 - $1.99 in the sock section. This may vary by store, but look for them next time you're there - the brand is Emily Paige and they have size 0-2 years and 3-5 years.
Patterns we saw were pink w/ polka dots, white "sweater" type, pink "sweater" type, pink/white fuzzy striped, black w/ polka dots.

KMart Double Coupons - Doubling up to $2.00
Warning: Lengthy post - sorry!
Confession time: I love KMart! It is RIGHT next door to my local Wal-Mart. I don't know anyone who shops there - except me (and a few others on the "fishingfordeals" boards that Andi mentioned below). So I score lots of deals. Granted, their prices are a little higher than most of Wal-Mart's, but they have to-die-for clearance finds. My recent finds were rollerblades for my kids (adjustable for 4 sizes) 75%, a bike for 90% off- $5(!), jogging strollers and car seats for 80% off! No, I don't walk around scanning things - the ladies on the shopping boards tell me what to look for, down to the box # usually!
I love their double coupon events they have started having. Andi- there's one at your KMart this week - Greensboro, NC! There is a complete list of locations below. Mine is not included this week. :( So if you've been saving coupons, go check it out! The coupons automatically double, up to $2! So, $2 off = $4 off, but not to exceed the price of the item. There are "beauty booklets" at the jewelry counter that have lots of great coupons in them, that could give you a good start. I got some l'oreal mascara and Sally Hansen nail items for super-cheap w/ these coupons during the last double coupons.

ING
This isn't really a bargain tip, but a financial tip that has been great for me over the past few years and I wish I would've started earlier. I've banked with Wellsfargo, Washington Mutual, Zions, and others, but have just loved ING. They're an online bank that offers great interest rates for checking accounts, savings accounts, cds, and more. Their savings account gives 2.75% APY in interest that is directly deposited into your account every month. That's the lowest the rate has been in years. It used to be 4.5%, but it has dropped with the economy. It's still better than the stock market though. There's no minimum balance, no fees, it's FDIC insured and very easy to use. Every other bank I have used for savings accounts, I have only made a few bucks a month in interest and now I'm getting $50 - $100 every month with ING. This interest is just from a savings account that is fluid and has no strings attached. Their cds are from 3.5% - 4.25% and also don't require a minimum deposit. So if you have any extra money in a savings account that you don't want to lock into any long-term investments, but want to make money on it, I highly recommend ING.
Go to http://home.ingdirect.com/index.html if you're interested.
If you want to sign up, I can recommend you and you get $25 - I get $10 (-: Just ask Andi to give you my email address.

Fishing for deals
My friend, Marlena, is one of the best bargain shoppers I know. (I'm trying to convince her to join as an author here, but no luck yet.)
However, she shared this website that she uses and I wanted to pass it on:
Fishing for deals
You have to register with them to have access to all the forums, but registration is free. Marlena's two favorite forums are Catch of the Day (for online purchases) and Surf the Turf (for brick and mortar stores).
I don't know about you, but I'm about to add another registration to my long list.
As a side note, she just sent me a quick e-mail letting me know that Oriental Trading Company is offering free shipping on ANY order by October 24 using code AHW903.
Happy shopping!

Debbie Meyer Produce Bags
Don't know if you've tried these Debbie Meyer Green Bags for your produce or not, but you REALLY should! I just started using them and my produce is lasting for weeks instead of days! They can be found in just about any supermarket (I've seen them here at Fred Meyer, Albertson's, Target, etc), or of course, you could order from the site. I was really skeptical when a friend recommended them, but now I am a believer! I've found it helps to keep a paper towel tucked in to absorb any moisture, too. I like it that I can just rinse them out, dry them, and reuse them, too! As my daughter would say, "They're very eco-friendly." ;) Kristin

Liken the Scriptures
Our family are big fans of the Liken the Scriptures movies (think really good, but funny roadshow with catchy songs...not animated!). I am on their email list. They have a promotion going on until Oct 10th...$10 off any purchase of $35 or more. Type GC10 in the checkout box. Kristin
Camera Buying Advice?
Does anyone have good digital camera buying advice for me? I tried Overstock.com last time and I hate my camera (a Kodak EasyShare). The price was good, but it was a factory reconditioned one and either the original design stinks or it wasn't fixed up well enough. So, I am fantasizing about a new one, nothing fancy...just want it to turn on when it's supposed to (i.e. not when it gets bumped in the case, thus sucking the batteries dry). I know, I ask for a lot, huh?
So, if anyone has a great source for solid digital cameras at a good price, I'd love to hear about it! Thanks! Kristin

Freecycle.org
Are you all familiar with www.freecycle.org? If you're not, you really should check it out! When you go to that site, it asks for your zip code, then puts you in your geographical freecycle area.
Here's how freecycle works:
1. You have something you don't need anymore, but think someone else may have a use for it.
2. You post "OFFERED: item (location)" on the website.
3. People can email you (but they don't see your email address; like craigslist) if they're interested
4. You decide who gets it and set up a pick up time and location with them.
OR...
1. You need something, so you post, "WANTED: item (location)"
2. People check their closets, and lo and behold, they have it and aren't using it.
3. They email you, set up a pick up, and everybody's happy!
It is always a good feeling to give something away to someone you know will need/want to use it, and it's a GREAT feeling to get something for free! I've been freecycling for about a year, and so far I've received...
yoga mats, a bread machine, a canner and a TON of wide mouth quart jars (I mean TONS), dress shoes, groovy girls toys, hermit crab terrarium, bookshelves (for storing all those jars!) ... you get the idea. It's also been satisfying to find good homes for stuff we don't need anymore (we don't live close to a DI trailer, plus, sometimes it's easier to part with it if you know it's meeting an actual need of a person in your community. I've even given away bags of food from cleaning out the pantry! It's also a FAB place to find/get rid of moving boxes!
Have a I sold you, yet?! Go check it out! Kristin

15% off at Kohl's - with online coupon
Are there Kohl's dept stores anywhere except here? They have great clearance, and to make it even better, this weekend only (27-28), I have a coupon for 15% off that can be used on your total purchase. I am pretty sure it can be used online, too.
If you'd like me to send you the coupon, I'd be happy to forward it to you. Just email Andrea and she can forward it to me (I think that will work?). Kristin

Walgreens Easy Saver
Have you heard of this program? It's a rebate program at Walgreens. Every month they offer FREE STUFF. My friend, Shelly, told me about it and I'm hooked. I go there every month to see what stuff I can get. The only bad part about it used to be that I had to take the time to fill out the little sheet and mail it in. But I faithfully did it.
NOW, they've started an online rebate process that is SOOOO much faster and easier. You do have to *register* with them to be eligible for this. How many registrations of mine are out there in the cyberworld these days???
If you click on the link, you can view the catalog to see what products are available this month. Many of them are just discounted and then there are always a couple of free items each month. If you get the rebate put onto a Walgreens gift card, they add 10%.
Totally worth it. This month I got free nail polish, chapstick (My lips hurt REAL BAD!), toothpaste, hair product, and Excederin (for my hubbie's old man back).
I recommend going early on in the month because sometimes they run out of the free items.
